2023 President’s Message

posted: August 25, 2023

Dear CACE Members,

I hope that all of you and your families are healthy and enjoying the summer. This is such an exciting time for CACE, and I am excited to share with you what we have accomplished thus far and what we plan to do in the coming year. As you all know, education and advocacy have been the primary goals of our organization, and we invite you all to participate in growing CACE as we continue to forge a new path as an independent entity. This past year we have continued to grow our online presence with many different types of programs geared toward the endocrinology sector in California. Since our annual meeting in September 2022, we have conducted three Hot Topics in Diabetes and Endocrinology programs with an emphasis on educating primary care physicians throughout the state of California, and we have two more scheduled, with one in October 2023 in Los Angeles and one in December 2023 in Santa Clara. We had an update on Medicare coding, reimbursement, and guidelines changes, which was well received, in our efforts to keep our members informed. Lastly, we have conducted two virtual Tumor Board meetings specifically focusing on thyroid cancer with experts from across the state, both met with resounding success. We will continue to provide value to your CACE membership through these meetings and other programs. Members have access to any of our program material from prior in-person meetings or virtual meetings on our members-only login page at no additional cost to members.

I am excited to remind everyone to attend our annual meeting being held in San Francisco at the Grand Hyatt SFO on September 8 – 10, 2023. Our annual meeting program committee, chaired by Drs. Tina Mosaferi and Julie Kim, has created a robust agenda of top speakers and topics. Check out our website to learn more about the fantastic agenda and register for the meeting.

Both CME and MOC Credits will be offered. At our business meeting held on Saturday, September 9th, we will discuss continued growth of CACE and transition of board positions.

I look forward to seeing everyone in September. If there are any questions that arise before then, please feel free to reach out to me, as always. And please do feel free to reach out to me if you want to participate in CACE in any of our committees we offer. My email address is: DSCheung@mednet.ucla.edu.

All the best,
