Medicare for California Endocrinologists: Care in a Changing Healthcare World
posted: December 11, 2020
Dr. Patricia Wu, Chair of the CACE Practice Committee, organized a webinar featuring Dr. Arthur Lurvey as speaker. The live webinar was offered free of charge to our members on December 10 and focused on the latest details of the new E&M rules, including examples from the AMA Medicare MDPP (Medicare Diabetes Prevention Program). Dr. Lurvey provided an update on telehealth and the ongoing impact from COVID-19, highlighting applicable telehealth codes that will remain and those likely to go away. The talk included how to deal with the resumption of audits (TPE and post-pay audits). In addition, Dr. Lurvey addressed new category III CPT and ICD codes for the next year that will affect endocrinologists.
Dr. Lurvey is a board-certified endocrinologist who has been in practice for 35 years and a Medicare Contractor Medical Director for 21 years, working with large insurance companies including, most recently, Noridian Healthcare Solutions. He is a delegate to CMA and AMA, and a CMA surveyor for JCAHO hospital survey.
